It is related to infertility, immunological alterations and gestational complica- tions. Diagnosis of endometriosis is difficult due to the broad variety of clinical manifestations as well as the complexity of certain complementary tests. Even though we do not know exactly its etiopatho- genesis, we are deepening and elaborating on its pathophysiological mechanisms.</p> <p>How we assess its fertility implications has been a great challenge in reproductive medicine. Further- more, its different classifications regarding its extension, and the diversity of medical-surgical guideli- nes have also had an influence, especially in its initial focus. Even though Scientific Societies have provided an uniform approach in assisted reproductive techniques, there are still important challenges in order to relate oocyte or embryo quality.
