Prevalences have been dated in infertile women of up to 57%, being in cases of repetition implantation failure and recurrent abortion of up to 66 and 68%, respectively. The diagnosis is based on the histological, immunohistochemical and hysteroscopic detection of plasma cells and / or other signs of chronic inflammation, although there are no universal and unified criteria. Molecular biology-based methods are making their way as precise new diagnostic techniques. Antibiotic treatment of chronic endometritis achieves high cure rates and improved reproductive success rates. Some novel forms of treatment are postulated as possible options in those cases of resistance or failure.

Conclusion: Chronic endometritis is a prevalent pathology, associated with an unfavorable reproductive prognosis and whose treatment seems to improve the results and success rates. The study of the relationships between the different microorganisms present in the uterine cavity, as well as novel diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, make up some of the advances in the study of this pathology.
ER -
